Everyone has that “why didn’t I think of that” moment when they experience something that just makes so much sense. That is the way every guest feels when they walk into a TopGolf facility for the first time.

Well, two brothers outside of London had the idea first, and it has grown into an international phenomenon. While hitting golf balls at a conventional (aka boring) driving range, they started brainstorming…

What if we actually knew how far away our ball landed?
What if we could somehow keep score to make this more interesting?
How can we bring excitement to a conventional range and turn it into a place where people want to be?

Well, they turned these questions into a reality, and TopGolf was born.

In November 2000, the world was first introduced to TopGolf in Watford, North West London. But something surprising happened. It wasn’t just the golfers who turned up seeking refuge from their usual practice haunts, but their non golfing friends. Their friends then brought their friends, and the idea of a better practice facility for golfers soon turned into much, much more! Suddenly people saw TopGolf as not just a unique place to practice their golf swing, but a great place to hang out with friends.

March 2004, East London grabbed their own TopGolf in Chigwell. Although only 30 minutes from Watford, both have welcomed more than one million guests. Men and women, young and young at heart, they all love it!

Expansion ramped up in 2005 with a 3rd site in the London area spoiling those Londoners even more! But the game that was changing the way the world played golf could not be confined to the London suburbs any longer. TopGolf crossed the pond and opened the first U.S. location outside of Washington D.C. in Alexandria, VA. It didn’t take long for guest to get hooked in the U.S just like the Brits. Guests walked in saying “huh?” and walked out saying “wow!”

TopGolf’s unique technology has kept players coming through the doors. However, TopGolf has recognized that guests desire more and have evolved into the country’s premier golf entertainment complex. 

With this in mind, TopGolf took a new direction in 2007 with the build and design of TopGolf Chicago in Wood Dale, IL and TopGolf Dallas in Texas. Bigger bays, bigger kitchens, bigger restaurants. Why? To meet the growing demands of thousands of guests who wanted to relax with a cold beverage while competing against their friends.

Despite a tough global economy that has taken a tremendous toll on the entertainment and gaming industry, TopGolf has prospered and has continued to welcome record numbers of new players. The draw of a fun and good value game, cold beer, great food and a place to socialize with friends and family is just too appealing.

Bringing us to May 2011. TopGolf once again set its eye on expansion and opened the doors of facility number seven in Allen, TX. With over 65,000 sf. of games, food, drinks, sports and music, TopGolf Allen is the largest and most technologically sophisticated site to-date. Touting 94 hitting bays over 3 floors, 32” LCD TVs at each bay, rooftop terrace with fire pits and cabanas, 2 full-service restaurants/bars and 5,000 sf. of private event space, why wouldn't Texas want another TopGolf!
