Andrew has been coaching for more than 10 years, during which time he has helped golfers with a range of abilities, from complete beginners to professionals, and even national champions. He joined the team at Topgolf Chigwell in August 2016 after working as Head Professional at a number of golf clubs around Hertfordshire and Norfolk.
Andrew's coaching philosophy focuses on improving the flight of the ball by adapting your individual swing, so there’s no need to start from scratch. Growing the game and keeping it fun are key to Andrew's approach.
Craig’s golfing journey began almost 40 years ago, with his Grandad teaching him how to hit a golf ball. His fledgling passion for the sport led him to put in the hours to perfect his strike, and this philosophy of hard work to get results led him to become a highly competent golfer.
His approach to teaching begins with the fundamentals of golf, starting with posture, grip and balance. His primary focus when working with a new pupil is to get them hitting the ball straight, and from there building accuracy.
Among Craig’s proudest achievements has been developing a number of juniors into England players, county players and great low handicap players through his simple coaching methods, keen eye and enthusiasm.
After taking up golf at the age of just eight years old, Richard spent three years juggling a variety of sports including tennis and football, before finally deciding that it was golf he wanted to dedicate his career to. At the age of 16 he was scouted by a specialist golf college where he was educated in the game of golf full time, and went on to achieve a National Diploma in Sports Science.
Richard was made junior captain at his golf club, where he helped a number of junior players with
their game. This experience cemented Richard’s desire to continue his PGA training, which he completed at the University of Birmingham.
Whether working with a complete beginner or a national player competing at a professional level, Richard’s philosophy remains very simple. There is no one method to suit all golfers, and Richard places emphasis on developing custom plans to reflect the style of each individual.
David took up golf at the age of 16, but only started playing seriously at 22. He built solid golf fundamentals before focusing on the finer detail of the golf swing, creating his own personal feel for striking the ball. This helped David to progress rapidly, and become a skilled golfer. He is currently studying towards a degree in Professional Golf Studies through the PGA.
When coaching, David focuses on providing an enjoyable and welcoming environment for all age ranges and abilities. He values the importance of having an insight into sports psychology and sports science.
Growing up in Hertfordshire, Lewis began his golf career in the pro shop at Cheshunt Golf Club. Progressing at the club, he subsequently became the junior organiser, competition organiser and handicap secretary as well as being heavily involved in the general running of the club. He is currently studying towards his PGA Golf Degree at Birmingham University.
Lewis loves teaching juniors and beginner groups, as well as giving out free tips and advice to help guests in the bays. In doing so, Lewis hopes to get more people enjoying the game he is passionate about.
