Whether you take part or just stand by watching in awe, the food challenge is one of those TopGolf traditions you just can't help but love. With recent classics including the 'Screamin' Pig Challenge' and the 'Gold Man Challenge', you can probably see that our food dares tend to be a little½different½to others you might find out there. So I thought I'd attempt to talk you through the contorted thought processes of a TopGolf food challenge strategist coming up with a new idea.
Step 1 - Select an item from the TopGolf menu There's plenty to choose from. The TopGolf menu is made up of a range of amazing dishes that fuel the swings of our guests all day, every day. From brunches and burgers to sharers and sweets, we constantly strive to produce some of the best food out there.
Step 2 - Make a version 3x the size or 8,000 times hotter We don't do things by halves at TopGolf. If we say we're running a food challenge, it'll be just that; a CHALLENGE! So come prepared to tackle something incredibly large or unbelievably hot. At least you can be sure that it'll also be exceptionally delicious.
Step 3 - Add an insane time limit We aren't in the business of having people lounging around all day taking their time. We want our challenges completed quickly! So after testing on willing volunteers, we set a time limit that, if we're completely honest, will make it difficult for participants to retain their dignity, whilst simultaneously providing immense entertainment for on-looking guests.
Step 4 - Throw in a prize To make it all worthwhile, we always give out plenty of free game credit, T-shirts and other great prizes to any champions who succeed in conquering one of our challenges. They also get a coveted place on the wall of fame.
Step 5 - Step back, and admire your handywork We love all the comical videos and pictures that come out of our challenges; it's part of what makes our jobs so fun. It's also what makes us produce these weird, wonderful and fun challenges over and over again.
