When traveling to England, many people want to see Big Ben, Parliament and the British countryside½but for some of us - there's no better trip to the U.K. than visiting TopGolf Surrey, Watford and Chigwell!
I had the good fortune to spend time at each of these sites last week, and it was a terrific trip. With the schools out for summer, the facilities were packed with families during the days and then with partygoers all evening. Like you'll see, the U.K. guests have a blast and love TopGolf just like the guests in the States. (Chigwell on a Friday night.)
The U.K. TopGolf sites also do some things that are very different from the U.S. For example, one of the regional dishes is prawn curry with naan and mango chutney! Mark Boyton (Director of Food and Beverage), it was terrific! Maybe we need to add that right after Mushi on all the U.S. menus. Before I left TopGolf Chigwell, I just had to try the Kobe beef burger; there's a lot of pride in having something like that for our guests.
When I first arrived at Surrey, the Associates took me right up to see the TopGolf gym. (I think they knew I had to work off the Kobe burger.) That's right, they have a full gym with personal trainers and spin classes. I saw such tremendous pride in the service levels Associates gave their guests. They were even offering packages where you can bundle the fitness club and TopGolf membership. There's no question that would be on my holiday wish list if I were living there.
The UK sites also have different exteriors than the U.S. sites. Watford was the first TopGolf site in the world and may hold the record for most unique exterior. It has 52 bays across two levels, and the tented roof keeps it bright and fun.
Watford also has built five outside bays on a party patio beside the main building. Now that's where I'd want to start the evening!
It was a great trip last week, and my favorite part was spending time with the terrific, energetic team. They clearly love TopGolf and working to deliver a great experience every day. Thanks for the hospitality!
