Last weekend, TopGolf sent three of our golf pros, along with superstar Meghan Hardin, to the Best Buddies Challenge at Hearst Castle. Best Buddies hosts this annual event, which includes a charity golf tournament and bike ride down the Pacific Coast Highway, to raise funds and awareness for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Learn more about how you can support Best Buddies, and see our Associates' breath-taking pictures and recap of the weekend after the jump!
Maggie Noel, TopGolf Houston Participating in the Best Buddies Challenge in Carmel, CA was definitely a heartwarming and humbling experience. It was also a great honor to be asked to represent my company and site, TopGolf USA and TopGolf Houston. The energy from the organization was so welcoming and heartfelt. From the registration all the way until the closing ceremonies, my heart was full of love and emotions. Listening to the stories of all the Buddies and how Best Buddies has changed their lives and opened up so many opportunities for them brought tears to my eyes. It was also a great time enjoying all of this with my fellow TopGolf family, Trey Wilkins from my home site as well as Chris Forsyth from TopGolf Watford. I could probably speak for all of us when I say we thoroughly enjoyed our time playing at Tehama Golf Club, a stunning golf course, riding bikes down the beautiful Pacific Coast, and swimming in the Neptune Pool at the Hearst Castle. If there was anything that could open my eyes to appreciating life and the little things that come with it, it would have been this trip. Thank you, TopGolf USA, for allowing me to represent us, and Best Buddies for allowing us to be a part of them during the weekend. I look forward to participating in future Best Buddies events and representing TopGolf USA.
Trey Wilkins, TopGolf Houston My experience going and playing in the Best Buddies event is indescribable!!!!! Seeing our best buddies brought goosebumps knowing that we could put a smile on each and every one of their faces!!! I love giving back to all these organizations, knowing that I can help somebody out and seeing smiles as I leave. Seeing our best buddies riding the bikes and doing the walk/run is amazing!! Hearing the speech by John and Charles (Best Buddies) brought tears knowing that somebody is helping them out with a job and helping keep friends in their lives. I am glad we could be part of this organization and hoping we could do this many more times with this and other organizations.
Chris Forsyth, TopGolf Watford This weekend I got to meet the CEO of Silicon Valley Bank, TopGolf Chairman Erik Anderson, Olympic star Carl Lewis and many others from all walks of life. I also got to meet a number of the Best Buddies from the program and have never come across such nice, humble people. We participated in the 15-mile bike ride down Highway 1, and I have never seen such breath-taking views, with the cliffs, sea and lots of wildlife for miles on end. The golf tournament was run extremely well; we felt so welcome as everyone came to meet us. The course was immaculate, and the weather was perfect. I would have to say my favourite part was meeting Trey and Maggie from TopGolf Houston. We hit it off and had so much fun representing the company we are proud to be part of. I have just landed safely back in the UK and wanted to say a massive thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent the company, meet great new people and have the time of my life in a beautiful part of the world. Every part of the trip was a success½Not a bad first time to the USA, haha. I hope to return soon.
